What Kind of Promise Ring for a Man?

my boyfriend and I are technically engaged but we don’t want to talk about marriage yet, since we both feel we are too young. He got me a beautiful diamond ring and i would like to get him one also. we’re considering them promise rings for now but i have no idea what kind to get him.
He said he had no problem with wearing a ring, but there are just so many possible styles. do men mind diamonds? what kind of band? i know i would like the ring to be white gold but doesn’t look too much like an actual wedding band, and i have no particular price range, but i’m still stuck on the band style and the stone (or if there should be a stone)
guys: any advice?
thanks!

    Why are you engaged then?

Promise rings are not the same as engagement rings. They are usually distributed amongst the jr high/high school crowd and symbolize that one day you promise to become engaged.

Most men don’t wear promise rings or engagement rings either but that doesn’t mean you can’t buck tradition. Diamonds are usually reserved for women since most men don’t like wearing them. But don’t let what 99% of men do affect his choice if that is what he wants. Go pick out whatever ring suits his fancy since he will be wearing it and it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks or does.

Zales has sterling silver bands set with a single diamond or else engraved with a shiny band/pattern…only $99. They also carry titanium bands engraved with patterns but, to be truthful, they look like wedding bands! why don’t you just get him his birthstone or monogram and then after the wedding he can move it to his right hand.
